Sterling exchange rate
The British Pound - Sterling
The British Pound is also know as Sterling or the Pound and is one of the oldest currencies in the world. The Pound is used across the globe and is one of the most widely traded currencies. The most common trading partners are the Euro and the US dollar. The nickname for the pound/US dollar exchange rate is 'cable', derived from when there was literally a cable under the Atlantic linking the countries.
Great Britain has a history of trading with nations around the Globe, from Australia and China through to Canada and India. Many of these established partnerships are still operating today and consequently the British pound is frequently exchanged.
